Choosing a real estate agent

Questions that reveal how an agent thinks, communicates and remains accountable after the listing presentation.

01

Ask for the reasoning, not only the recommendation.

A useful agent should be able to explain the evidence behind the price conversation, likely buyer groups, preparation priorities and proposed method. The explanation matters because the campaign will require decisions after the presentation is over.

02

Understand who will do the work.

Clarify who handles buyer calls, inspections, feedback, vendor communication and negotiation. A polished proposal is not a substitute for knowing who remains personally accountable throughout the campaign.

03

Compare service, not one isolated number.

Fees, marketing, method and price expectations need to be considered together. Ask what is included, what is optional, how progress will be measured and what the agent would change if buyer response differs from the initial plan.
